art for c's room

this would be the perfect print for c's room if we keep to his current color scheme, inspired by the crib bedding he presently has. his bedding looks like this.

why this blog?

if you happen to be reading this blog, you may be asking yourself, why? and that's a good question. actually i don't happen to have an answer for why you are reading this blog, but i do have an answer as to why i am writing it.
you see, three months ago, hubby, kiddies, and i bought a new house. we knew we weren't going to be able to afford the "house of our dreams" quite yet, but we were looking for a place with more space, a big backyard, and lots of young families in the neighborhood. those were our three main things. and while we ended up finding a beautiful house with a lot more extras than we ever thought we could afford at this stage in our lives, i had one teeny-tiny concern. it wasn't at all decorated the way i would've decorated it. which seems like a silly, even stupid concern, right? except that design, style, and aesthetics are very important to me, and i truly believe that your living environment, no matter what it is, should be a reflection of who you are and what you consider beautiful.
so we bought our house. and we love our house. don't get me wrong. it's wonderful. i'm grateful to have this place. but that doesn't mean i don't want to turn it into a place that i consider a work of art, a place that me and my family will consider the ultimate in beauty, quirkiness, comfy-ness, coziness, and happiness.

so that's why the blog. this blog will be a record of my search for the perfect ideas of how to decorate this house, from the dark playroom in the basement to the lovely (and yet not my style) kitchen. i'll be posting on ideas i find inspiring, art and artists that i want to (or wish i could) use in my home, furniture arranging dilemmas, what goes with what quandries, etc. and i'll be asking advice and opinions from you all! so that's it. my reason for the season of this post. thanks in advance for any help you may give me here.
